Then you're not on a boat. Haha. We met a couple at a marina in Gulf Shores--they are retired and live in Nebraska but keep their boat down here. After the wife showed us the bathrooms and we returned to their boat (a powerboat), the husband said there had been a disaster while she was gone but that he'd handled it. He chuckled and said, just another day with a boat. We could relate! When your home is jostling around in the damp all the time, things are bound to break. When we sailed to Florida through the I.C.W. (Intracoastal Waterway) there was a cold front coming, with high winds, so we hunkered down in a little harbor for a couple of days. We were just chilling at home( I mean boat😝) and did a couple loads of laundry. We could see some dolphins from the boat, and we saw some jellyfish too. Me and Marguerite went to a couple museums, Pensacola Museum of History and the Children’s Museum. We got take-out Thai food, but we really just spent the time at the boat and caught up with schoolwork.
When we were sailing to Gulfport we ran into some dolphins. It was very exciting; at one point the dolphins were so close you could almost touch them. Also we saw amazing jellyfish there were a lot of them.
Hey there! After Slidell, we traveled to Bay St. Louis. We hung out at the beaches both days we were in town. On the second day we took a walk around town, the shops were cute, and the town was a total beach town. We got ice cream from Creole Creamery: dessert at Tiffany’s and nectar sherbet, my two favorite flavors! It was very nice. I would recommend going there, even if you don’t sail.
Hello! If you are reading this, and you are not familiar with our adventure, you might be wondering ‘how are they going to do school work?’ I mean, you have heard that Marguerite and I are in school, so you probably don’t think we are just going to take a nice, long, couple of months break, right? Right! We are starting homeschool!
Let’s start at the beginning. We are a family who are on a journey of a lifetime: sailing to the Bahamas! We have been preparing our boat, a Catalina 42, for this trip for many months. The boat is far from homey, but is cozy, and is slowly getting to that point! Right now we are in Slidell, yesterday we sailed across Lake Pontchartrain!

Harry uses Hedwig to send notes in the wizard world, if you were wondering. She has come to live with my third grade teacher Ms.Brandi. Hedwig has gone to Germany and now she is going to the Bahamas with me.
